Special Labor Day Visitors

Well, we've been having a lot of fun in the past couple weeks. Until just recently, we've enjoyed 90+ degree days since we've moved to Colorado. So, two weekends ago, I caught a couple photos of when the boys and I went to a nearby splash park to cool off.

 As you can see, it's a pretty fun place. I wish I'd know about it earlier this summer....

When the boys aren't out having fun, they run into the occasional fist fight...

It always starts with the two of them playing, then someone gets hurt by accident, that someone gets mad at the other one, and before long, fists are flying through the air.

Boys!

  The good news is: they make up quickly and are pals again in no time. hahaha

Luckily, this past Labor Day weekend, the boys were way too busy having fun with the exciting arrival of TJ's parents! The boys had been looking forward to their grandparents' visit for months!

When they first got here, we went to Chuck E. Cheese's, of course! The boys have decided that anytime there's a reason to celebrate, that the best place to go to is Chuck E. Cheese's. We also got to see some fireworks, in honor of Labor Day, at Windsor Lake. The fireworks reflected off the lake and it was so pretty! (I was kicking myself for forgetting my camera!)

We also drove down to Denver and went to Bass Pro Shop. (I remembered my camera this time!)

 (Can ya tell they're havin' fun?!)

 The boys love looking at the huge freshwater fish in the giant indoor aquarium.

 And they love shooting targets, too!

 (Trever got a little upset when his turn at the Target Shooting ended so soon.)

Labor Day in Windsor is quite the celebration.

We started the morning off with a fun parade that Trever & TJ got to be in and Nathan got to watch all by himself. (Well, without Trever, at least.) 

 

We sat at the very beginning of the parade---best idea ever! I think the parade people were so eager to get started that they were extra generous in their candy tossing. People kept walking right up to Nathan and dropping handfuls of candy just for him! He was so funny about it, too: he'd casually pick up one piece of candy, walk to his bag & put it in, then walk back to get another piece, going back at forth at his own pace.  

 Finally, near the end of the parade, came Trever's school float!

 Trever looked so proud of being in the parade, and I was so proud to see him and know he was my son! And I was so grateful for a good husband who was so willing to walk in the parade with his kid.

 Well, by the end of the parade, Nathan had made a big haul! He had SO much candy that it looked like he'd been out Trick-or-Treating for hours! haha. He was so cute when we went home and divided all his candy in half, making a bagful for Trever, too.

Once Trever & TJ got back, TJ had to go into work. But Trever joined us for a fun afternoon at the park.
The boys had to stop at the petting zoo first, of course.

 Then, it was on to the bouncy "rides."

 They wanted to play on EVERYTHING, which of course was too expensive, so there was a little drama....but they still managed to get a chance at all their favorite "rides."

 They were just so excited and surprised to see how their park had transformed into a carnival for the day!
Which made them very hyper!!! haha

 And they were eager to have as much fun as possible!

Nathan's on the right. The second time he went up, he decided to sit around for a while. We were waving at him and hollering up at him to come down. But he was just waving back and smiling. So Trever had to climb back up and talk his brother into sliding down. haha For a while, we wondered if he'd ever come down, but I guess he was just trying to get his money's worth. haha

Life would be dull without these crazy, funny, sweet and sour, always adored little guys!

We had the funnest Labor Day weekend, ever, thanks to TJ's parents' visit. Our boys are so blessed with wonderful grandparents and we treasure the time spent with them. By the end of the weekend, the boys were sad to see them go, but hopeful to see them again soon! Visits like this remind us of how much we miss all our family and relatives, so please come visit! We love you all!
