Last weekend, we hiked one of our favorite Colorado trails: "Devil's Backbone."
We love this little hike.
It's not too difficult for a family of varied ages,
but it's not so easy that it's boring, either.
The weather was perfect, too:
not too hot, not too cold.
Isaiah spent most of his trip on TJ's shoulder's,
while Trever and Nathan blazed ahead.
I enjoyed the views, trailing a few steps behind,
but catching up to steal a squeeze from my little angel...
and giving TJ a brief break on the trail.
But not for long, before I had to capture another pic of my 4 favorite people in the whole world! Love these boys!
And love enjoying the outdoors with them!
Trever and Nathan kept busy along the trail with their handy pocket knives,
whittling little swords out of sticks. Of course. haha
Isaiah wasn't allowed a pocketknife yet, so he had to settle with boring old, un-sharpened sticks. But he also had fun throwing rocks from his perch on TJ's shoulders. haha
Saying 'Good Bye' to a great trail.

Then we drove up to the "Dam Store."
Wandered around looking at all the souvenirs,
Climbed a rickety old tower,
And enjoyed the views from above...
And, as the lady at the counter told us: "Nobody leaves the Dam Store without some jerky,"
we, too, couldn't resist trying some of their exotic meats:
Alligator, Venison, Ostrich, Buffalo & Pheasant!
Seriously!
And all surprisingly delicious!
~
Then we finished the trip with a cherry on top:
We've been meaning to stop at this cute cherry shop every time we've driven past it since we moved here. So today was the day!
Isn't it adorable?!
And the store was filled with the most delicious treats: 100% Pure Juices & Ciders, Canned Pie Fillings and Preserves, Canned Fruits & Vegetables....Countless Canned Delicacies!
Nathan was all tuckered out by this point.
And so was Isaiah.
It took every ounce of will power to keep on licking that lollipop.
CRAZY boys & CRAZY good juice from "Cherry Tree."
Peach Cider was TJ & the boys' top pick,
my fave was the Raspberry Cider,
and ironically, the Cherry Juice took 3rd,
although it was still extremely tasty!
What a day! In the very best way!
