The Great First Day of School

Our Wonderful Summer is Over!
We made a lot of fun memories this past summer,
sharing our adventures with our newest family member, Isaiah.
And now School is back in Session!
Both boys grew more excited for school as we shopped for school clothes & supplies,
and went to their schools' annual "Ice Cream Social's" to meet their teachers before the big day.
Although "summer is over" it's still SUPER hot outside.
But the temperature is perfect for walking to school in the morning,
which we all enjoy. TJ was even able to join us this morning,
which was very helpful, since I needed to stay at the school with Nathan
to help his teacher get his "FM System" for his hearing aid set up.
Trever's in a different school building now, for 3rd thru 5th graders.
So, TJ brought him to his school while I stayed with Nathan.
Unfortunately, the FM system that the school reserved with him had the wrong attachment.
The FM system is a set that includes an attachment to the hearing aid
and a microphone and radio system that the teacher wears so that
her voice can be trasmitted directly to Nathan's hearing aid.
It makes it a lot easier for Nathan to hear in a classroom setting.
So, Nathan had to go without his FM system today,
and I of course suffered anxiety over the issue for the rest of the day!
Trever had no problems, finding his teacher and his classroom and all of his friends!
Those were his main worries with the start of a new school year in a new school,
but TJ informed me that all worries were put to rest as soon as they arrived.

When we picked up the boys from school,
I was filled with relief that Nathan came out with a smile and said that he had a great day and was able to hear his teacher without too much trouble.
His school will have the correct attachment for his FM System tomorrow,
so that also added to my relief.
~
I was also glad to see Trever and be greated with his big grin and warm hug!
~
The first day of school is always a mix of emotions,
but it all ended well and the boys are eager to return tomorrow!
~
And Isaiah and I will continue to enjoy our quiet little afternoons together, too!
~
xoxo
